Urban Planner

Overview

The Urban Planner supports land use planning, entitlement strategy, zoning coordination, and development planning efforts for public and private sector projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct zoning, land use, and entitlement research for development projects.

  • Prepare due diligence analyses, feasibility studies, and planning reports.

  • Assist with rezoning applications, comprehensive plan amendments, variances, and special exceptions.

  • Coordinate with municipalities, planning departments, and regulatory agencies.

  • Support site planning efforts with development strategy recommendations.

  • Prepare presentation materials for hearings, community meetings, and client discussions.

  • Review land development codes, ordinances, and regulatory frameworks.

  • Coordinate planning efforts with engineering, architecture, and ownership teams.

  • Assist with master planning and mixed-use development strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Regional Planning, Architecture, Geography, or related field.

  • 2+ years of planning experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of zoning, entitlement, and municipal development processes.

  • Experience with GIS, planning software, and Microsoft Office preferred.

  • Strong analytical, writing, and public communication skills.

  • Familiarity with Florida planning regulations preferred.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
