Jose Rodriguez P.E. is the Engineering Director for Barrios Engineering. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University Puerto Rico, Mayagüez Campus and began his career as a field inspector for the North Coast Super Aqueduct, one of the largest water distribution projects in Puerto Rico. Jose has more than twenty years of field and office experience performing numerous and diverse engineering and management tasks. After moving to Florida in 2015, he gained valuable experience by supervising projects during construction and designing storm drain systems for public roads, private facilities, parking lots and urban developments. In addition to Florida and Puerto Rico, he is now licensed in several other states, such as New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Washington State, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Nebraska, and New Mexico. 

Jose has dedicated a large part of his career evaluating and designing water resources projects, such as stormwater management systems, water distribution, sanitary sewer facilities and flood control studies. Through this experience, Jose’s coordination with colleagues, consultants and subordinates has proven to achieve quality final engineering projects.   

While Jose currently resides in Orlando, Florida, he also makes time to visit friends and family in his hometown of San Juan, Puerto Rico.  He also enjoys outdoor activities, playing tennis, and spending time with his family.
